Mentorship vs Course
A Course is a single educational entity by a speaker surrounding a specific topic. This would be 1 entity in your Teachable account.
- It would typically have several lessons by that speaker with any related content they decide to provide.
- There would be scheduled Live Q&A sessions. The schedule and associated links would be within the course.
- A course would typically only stretch for the amount of time necessary to schedule the Live Q&A sessions.
- After the course occurs, it is retained in the user's Teachable account.
- Many are lifetime access.
- Some have limited access. (If they were limited, it would be disclosed prior to purchase.)
- Payments:
- A Course has a 1-time price. Once that price is fulfilled through a 1-time or monthly payments, the user will not be charged again.
A Mentorship is a membership program that initiates a payment subscription.
- A Mentorship would be listed as a separate entity in Teachable. It will be there as long as the user is a member.
- A Mentorship has it's own live sessions separate from the Live Q&A sessions in any associated Courses.
- During a Mentorship membership, the user obtains courses that are part of the program.
- If the user cancels, they will be removed from the Mentoring course in Teachable; however, they will retain all of the actual courses that they obtained during the membership.
- Payments:
- A membership has recurring costs. Whether monthly or annual, membership programs will automatically renew continue to charge the user at the chosen payment periods until the user requests to cancel the membership.
